ESGI Supports a Mother of Four Facing Health and Housing Challenges in Abuja
ES-25 Abuja Weekly Outreach Report
20 September 2026
At Empowered Servants Global Initiative (ESGI), we believe that compassion means seeing people in difficult circumstances and responding with practical support and encouragement.
During a recent encounter in Abuja, an ESGI volunteer met a mother who was facing both a health challenge and significant financial hardship while caring for her four children.
A Mother Facing Difficult Circumstances
The ESGI volunteer encountered Mrs. Pxxxx Sxxxxxx at a shop, where she was sharing her experience of battling stomach ulcers and undergoing treatment.
As the conversation continued, she explained that she was separated from her husband and was currently caring for her four children.
The family was living in an uncompleted building, while she worked various menial jobs to provide for her children. Her work included cleaning and assisting caterers whenever opportunities were available.
Despite these difficult circumstances, she continued to work and seek ways to provide for her family while managing her health condition.
A Timely Act of Support
Moved by her situation, the ESGI volunteer provided ₦10,000 to support her during this challenging period and assist with her immediate needs.
The intervention offered practical relief to a mother carrying the responsibility of caring for her children while dealing with her own health and financial challenges.
Compassion in Action
Stories like this remind us that behind many everyday encounters are people quietly carrying significant burdens.
At ESGI, we remain committed to Impacting Lives One at a Time by responding to genuine needs with compassion, practical assistance, encouragement, and the love of Christ.
We are grateful to everyone who continues to make these interventions possible through their generosity and commitment.
One mother supported. Four children encouraged. One life impacted.
