Spreading the Love of God Through Practical Kindness
ESGI Abuja Weekly Report — 10th August 2026
By Aaron
“Greetings, brethren.”
At Empowered Servants Global Initiative (ESGI), we believe that serving others is more than meeting physical needs. It is about seeing people, listening to their stories, sharing the love of God, and becoming a channel through which encouragement and practical help can reach those who need it.
This week’s outreach in Abuja provided two beautiful reminders of how a simple act of kindness can bring joy, hope, and encouragement to someone going through a difficult moment.
A Gateman Who Experienced Unexpected Kindness
During a visit to a hospital facility, an ESGI servant encountered a gateman whom he had seen and exchanged pleasantries with on several occasions.
Although their interactions had previously been brief, something was different on this particular day.
He felt prompted to reach out to the man, share the love of God with him, and spend some time speaking with him.
After their conversation, he asked for the man’s account details and sent him ₦5,000.
The response was one of genuine excitement and gratitude.
The man explained that it was the first time someone had given him something simply out of kindness, without expecting anything in return. He was deeply grateful, and the joy on his face was evident.
What started as a simple conversation became an opportunity to remind someone that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
Meeting a Man in a Difficult Moment
The second encounter happened at Park Road, where another man regularly went in search of his daily livelihood.
On this particular day, however, he did not appear well.
He looked uncomfortable and distressed.
Having noticed his condition, the ESGI servant gathered the courage to approach him and ask what was wrong.
The man explained that he was not feeling well and believed he might be experiencing symptoms of malaria. He had not eaten and had not taken any medication because he was trying to find money to meet his immediate needs.
A prayer was offered for him before the ESGI servant continued with his journey.
But the encounter did not end there.
A Second Encounter, A Timely Intervention
On the way back, he encountered the same man at the same location.
This time, it was clear that he was still struggling. He appeared very uncomfortable and had a high temperature.
Rather than simply passing by, the ESGI servant encouraged him to get some food and seek appropriate medical attention.
He then sent ₦5,000 to assist him with his immediate needs.
The man went on his way, and the encounter seemed to be over.
But later, they met again.
This time, the man looked much better and stronger.
He asked to speak with the ESGI servant and expressed his sincere appreciation. He was grateful for the assistance he had received and believed that God had sent someone to him at a critical moment.
The Ministry of Showing Up
These two encounters demonstrate something important about the work of ESGI.
Sometimes, ministry happens in a church service.
Sometimes, it happens during a conversation.
Sometimes, it happens at a hospital gate or along a busy road.
And sometimes, it happens when we simply take the time to notice that someone is struggling.
The support given in these two situations amounted to ₦10,000, but the impact went beyond the financial value.
One person experienced unexpected generosity.
Another received timely support during a difficult moment.
Both encounters created opportunities to demonstrate the love of God in practical ways.
A Mission of Love
At Empowered Servants Global Initiative, we remain committed to being available to people in need and demonstrating the love of Christ through compassionate action.
We believe that every person matters and that seemingly small acts of kindness can carry significant meaning.
A conversation can bring encouragement.
A prayer can bring hope.
A helping hand can restore someone’s confidence.
And an act of generosity can remind someone that they are not alone.
We give all glory to God for the privilege of being a blessing to others.
May ESGI continue to serve, empower, and transform lives—one encounter at a time.
