A Timely Intervention: Helping a Student Complete Her School Fees in Osogbo
At ESGI, we believe that education remains one of the strongest tools for transforming lives and building brighter futures. Every week, we are reminded that even a simple act of kindness can become the answer to someone’s urgent prayer.
This week, our team in Osogbo, Osun State, led by Benjamin, had the opportunity to support a student in need whose academic journey was at risk due to unpaid school fees.
The student reached out with an urgent request. Her total school fees amounted to ₦204,900, and through the sacrificial efforts of her mother, she had already raised ₦150,000. However, there was still an outstanding balance to be paid, and the school portal was close to shutting down.
Her situation was especially touching. Having lost her father, her mother—a police officer—is solely responsible for caring for her and her siblings. With multiple responsibilities resting on one parent, meeting such financial demands had become extremely difficult.
Moved by her story, Benjamin immediately engaged another ESGI team member, Sister Faith, along with an additional supporter who was willing to help.
Together, they were able to raise the remaining balance needed:
₦15,000 was contributed from the ESGI fund managed by Sister Faith
₦15,000 was contributed from the ESGI fund managed by Benjamin
The remaining amount was provided by another generous supporter
Through this collective effort, the full school fees were successfully paid directly into the school’s account, ensuring the student’s registration was completed before the deadline.
This intervention is a reminder that when people come together with compassion, burdens become lighter and hope is restored.
The student expressed deep gratitude for the timely support, and we are thankful to God for making it possible to stand in the gap for her at such a critical moment.
Together, We Keep Changing Lives
At ESGI, every contribution matters. Every seed sown helps meet real needs and opens doors for people who might otherwise be left behind.
Thank you to all our partners and supporters who make these interventions possible. Together, we are building hope, one life at a time.
