Supporting Hope and Education
At ESGI, we believe that compassion is most powerful when it is expressed through practical support and genuine care for people facing difficult circumstances. Across different communities, many young people continue to pursue their education despite overwhelming financial and personal challenges. Through every outreach, ESGI remains committed to standing with such individuals and offering hope where it is needed most.
Last week, ES20 Abuja reached out to support a young woman whose story reflects resilience, determination, and courage in the face of hardship.
According to the report shared by Donald, the outreach centred on Hxxxxxx, a final-year student in the Faculty of Agriculture at xxxxxx University. She attended a special students’ meeting organized at the fellowship, where she openly shared her current situation and the challenges she has been facing.
Hxxxxxx is an orphan who was taken in and raised by an elderly woman from childhood. Despite growing up under difficult conditions, she remained committed to her education and continued striving toward completing her academic journey. Over the years, she has relied heavily on the tailoring skills she learned to support herself and meet her personal and educational needs.
As she approaches the completion of her studies, however, the pressures have become more intense. She is currently struggling with daily upkeep expenses as well as the financial demands associated with her final-year project. Like many students facing economic hardship, balancing survival and academics has become increasingly difficult.
Moved by her story and determination, support was extended to her through ESGI. A sum of ₦10,000 was given from ESGI funds to assist with her immediate needs and project-related expenses. In addition, Donald and his family also provided food items, including Garri and Macaroni, to further support her during this period.
The support brought great encouragement to Hxxxxxx, who expressed deep gratitude for the kindness and assistance shown to her. Moments like these remind us that sometimes, timely support can make a meaningful difference in helping someone continue their journey with renewed strength and hope.
