A Prompting That Could No Longer Be Ignored

Sometimes, God places someone on our hearts repeatedly—not by accident, but because He intends to make us part of their story.

Mrs. Jxxxx xxxxx was someone I had known for some time, although only from a distance. On several occasions, I had felt prompted to reach out and interact with her, but somehow, I kept putting it off.

On this particular day, however, I decided to finally act on that prompting.

I called her and asked how she and her family were doing. What she shared immediately revealed that she had been going through a very difficult season.

When Feeding Becomes a Challenge

She explained that she had not been doing any work, while her husband, who works as a borehole driller, had been without a job for several months.

The situation had become increasingly difficult for the family. Even providing food had become a challenge.

She also shared that she had been unable to pay her children’s school fees during the previous school session.

Behind her words was the weight of a mother trying to hold her family together in the midst of prolonged financial hardship.

“Jesus Wants to Help You”

Moved by what she shared, I told her that Jesus wants to help her.

Those words touched something deep within her. She immediately began to shed tears.

Then she shared something that left me amazed.

She told me that she had recently had a dream in which someone was giving her a gift.

At that moment, I was reminded of how perfectly God can order our steps. What had seemed like a simple prompting to make a phone call was actually an opportunity to bring encouragement and practical help to someone who desperately needed it.

A Timely Gift of ₦10,000

I was led to assist her with ₦10,000.

Because she was having an issue with her bank account, she asked that the money be transferred to a friend who could withdraw it and give it to her.

I transferred ₦10,200 to her friend, adding ₦200 from my personal funds to help cover the bank charges, ensuring that she received the full ₦10,000 intended for her.

She was deeply grateful.

I encouraged her to return all the glory to God and reminded her to continue praying and trusting Him. I encouraged her that God is able to turn things around for her and her family.

When God Orders Your Steps

This encounter was a powerful reminder that obedience to a simple prompting can become an answer to someone’s prayer.

Blessing someone is not always about doing something extraordinary. Sometimes, it is simply about noticing, reaching out, listening, and responding to a need when God gives us the opportunity.

For this family, the ₦10,000 was more than financial assistance. It was a reminder that they were not forgotten and that God could use ordinary people to bring hope in difficult seasons.

A Heart Full of Gratitude

Reflecting on the encounter, I was deeply grateful that I finally responded to the prompting I had received several times before.

I am also sincerely grateful to our leaders and everyone who makes this work possible. Through their support, opportunities are created for practical expressions of God’s love to reach people at the point of their needs.
