A Timely Transport Support for a Job Interview

A Timely Transport Support for a Job Interview

ESGI Weekly Outreach Report | 18 September 2026

At Empowered Servants Global Initiative (ESGI), we believe that sometimes a small act of support at the right moment can help someone take an important step toward a new opportunity.

During a recent Sunday service, an ESGI volunteer encountered a minister who had been without a job for some time and was trusting God for a new opportunity.

An Unexpected Opportunity

The man, whom we will refer to as Xxxxxxx, is a minister in the church and also works as a shoe cobbler.

After the service, the ESGI volunteer happened to overhear him receiving a phone call. He had been invited to attend a job interview at a shoe factory the following day.

The opportunity was particularly meaningful because it aligned with his experience as a shoe cobbler.

However, there was an immediate challenge: he did not have enough money to cover his transportation to the interview location.

He subsequently made another call to explain his situation and seek assistance, but it was clear that he had no immediate solution.

A Timely Intervention

Having learned about the situation, the ESGI volunteer approached him and asked how he could help.

After hearing the details, he was led to provide ₦5,000 to support his transportation to the interview.

The man was overjoyed by the unexpected assistance. He expressed his gratitude and remarked that it was a reminder of how God answers prayers.

The volunteer encouraged him to give thanks to God, and the man prayed immediately, committing the opportunity and the provision into God’s hands.

When Help Comes at the Right Time

The intervention may have been a simple transportation allowance, but it represented something much greater for the beneficiary: an opportunity to respond to a door that had unexpectedly opened.

At ESGI, we remain committed to Impacting Lives One at a Time, trusting God to use every opportunity, every contribution, and every act of generosity to bring encouragement and practical support to people in need.

We are grateful to everyone who continues to empower this work and make timely interventions possible.

A door opened. Help arrived. Hope was strengthened.
