A Timely Helping Hand for an Artisan in Need
ESGI Abuja Weekly Report — 17th August 2026

“Calvary greetings, everyone.”
At Empowered Servants Global Initiative (ESGI), we believe that sometimes the opportunity to bless someone comes simply by being attentive to the people and conversations around us.
During this week’s outreach in Abuja, an ESGI servant encountered an artisan who was facing a difficult financial situation and needed immediate support.
An Artisan Waiting for Work
The beneficiary, whose identity has been withheld for privacy, is a woodworker (artisan).
He was encountered while speaking with a friend about some of the challenges they were experiencing.
During the conversation, he explained that he had not had work for several days. He had finally secured a job on Friday, but by Saturday, he had still not received payment.
His situation was becoming increasingly difficult.
If the site engineer responsible for paying him did not show up, he would have no money to get home or provide food for his wife.
When Expected Payment Did Not Come
Concerned about his situation, the ESGI servant asked him to contact the site engineer again.
He made the call while they were together, but unfortunately, the engineer did not answer.
With Sunday approaching and the artisan already without the resources he needed for himself and his household, the need was clear.
Rather than leave him to face the weekend without support, ESGI stepped in with ₦10,000.
A Heart of Gratitude
The artisan was filled with joy when he received the support.
His gratitude was so sincere that he began praying and thanking God in Hausa.
It was a powerful reminder that an act of generosity can mean much more than its monetary value.
For someone facing uncertainty about how to get home and provide food for his family, the ₦10,000 brought immediate relief and encouragement.
Meeting Needs With Compassion
This encounter reflects the heart of ESGI’s mission: to identify genuine needs and respond with compassion.
The goal is not simply to give money.
It is to see people.
To listen to their stories.
To understand their circumstances.
And where possible, to provide timely support that can make a meaningful difference.
The artisan had work, skills, and a desire to provide for his household. What he needed at that particular moment was simply someone willing to stand with him while he navigated an unexpected delay in payment.
The Blessing of Being a Blessing
The total amount disbursed during this intervention was ₦10,000, leaving a balance of ₦20,000.
But once again, the impact cannot be measured by the amount alone.
A worker received encouragement.
A family received temporary relief.
And an opportunity was created to demonstrate the love and goodness of God in a practical way.
All glory and thanks belong to God, and we remain grateful to everyone who carries and supports the vision of ESGI financially and through service.
May God continue to strengthen every servant and supporter committed to spreading His love.
Sometimes, being a blessing simply means showing up when someone needs help the most.
