Securing a Future: How Timely Support Helped a Student Stay in School
Date: April 12, 2026
Location: Osogbo, Osun State
Report By: Benjamin
At ESGI, we believe that education is not just a personal journey—it is a pathway to transformation, not only for individuals but for families and communities. This week’s outreach in Osogbo highlights the power of collective support in ensuring that a young student’s future remains on track.
A Call for Help at a Critical Moment
Benjamin was recently contacted by a student, T., who was facing an urgent challenge regarding her school fees. The total required amount was ₦204,900, and through the determined efforts of her mother, she had already raised ₦150,000.
However, a significant balance still remained—and time was not on her side.
The school’s payment portal was close to shutting down, meaning that failure to complete the payment would have serious academic consequences.
A Family Carrying the Burden Alone
T.’s story is one of resilience shaped by difficult circumstances. She lost her father, and since then, her mother—a police officer—has taken on the full responsibility of raising her and her siblings.
Balancing family responsibilities with financial demands has not been easy, and despite her mother’s efforts, meeting the full cost of education remained a struggle.
The Power of Collective Support
Recognizing the urgency and importance of the situation, Benjamin reached out to a fellow ES Team member, Sister Faith, as well as another willing supporter.
Together, they mobilized resources to bridge the financial gap:
– ₦15,000 was contributed by Sister Faith from the ES fund
– ₦15,000 was contributed by Benjamin from the ES fund
– The remaining balance was covered by an additional supporter
Through this collaborative effort, the full school fee was successfully completed.
A Life Impacted, A Future Preserved
The entire payment—both the funds raised by the student’s family and the additional support—was processed and paid directly into the school’s account.
With this, T.’s fees were fully settled, securing her place in school and lifting a significant burden off her and her family.
Her gratitude was heartfelt, reflecting the deep impact of this timely intervention.
Why This Matters
This story reminds us that:
– Education should never be cut short due to financial limitations
– Collaboration amplifies impact
– Timely intervention can change the course of a life
What seemed like a challenging gap became a solvable problem when people came together with a shared purpose.
Gratitude and Moving Forward
We extend our appreciation to everyone who contributed to making this possible—Sister Faith, the additional supporter, and all members of the ESGI community who continue to stand in the gap for others.
At ESGI, we remain committed to empowering lives through practical support and intentional giving. Every contribution, every act of kindness, and every collaborative effort helps build a stronger, more hopeful future.
Together, we are not just meeting needs—we are shaping destinies.
