Restoring Health: Supporting a Young Man in Osun State

Good health is often taken for granted — until illness strikes. For Brother Joshua, a young man in Osun State, malaria became a recurring challenge that affected both his health and daily life. Despite previous treatment in November, he was unable to complete the full dosage and missed some injections, causing the sickness to return with greater intensity.

When Oluwadamilare Adeleke, an Empowered Servant, learned about Joshua’s situation through a friend, he immediately reached out. Joshua explained the ordeal in detail, including the expenses he had already incurred and his inability to afford further treatment.

After confirming the total cost for complete treatment at DeRock Pharmacy — ₦20,000 — Oluwadamilare acted promptly. He sent ₦15,000 from the Empowered Servants fund and added ₦5,000 from his personal resources, ensuring Joshua could access the full treatment without delay. The payment was made directly to the pharmacy, eliminating any barriers to care.

Brother Joshua expressed deep gratitude for the timely support, and Oluwadamilare, along with the ESGI team, continues to trust in God for his full recovery.

Reflection

This story highlights the mission of the Empowered Servants Program: to respond to urgent needs with practical support and compassion. By providing both financial assistance and a caring presence, ESGI helps individuals like Joshua regain health, hope, and dignity.
