At the heart of the Empowered Servants Initiative (ESGI) is a mission to extend God’s love beyond words—reaching people in moments of deep need with compassion, prayer, and practical support.

During a routine visitation and evangelism outreach in Kano, Nnenna Opigbe, an Empowered Servant with ES Team 18, encountered a young woman whose story revealed the painful realities of loss, hardship, and interrupted dreams.

A Family Marked by Loss and Financial Strain

The young lady, Abigail, is single and the eldest child in her family. During the conversation, she shared that her life and education took a drastic turn after the sudden death of her father, who passed away following a fatal accident. His death left her mother alone to care for three children with no stable means of income.

As a result of the financial hardship, Abigail was forced to drop out of school during her first year of admission. Sadly, her younger siblings are facing similar challenges, as their education is also at risk due to unpaid school fees.

The breakdown of their school fees is as follows:

Abigail’s school fees: ₦55,000

Second child’s school fees: ₦32,000

Third child’s school fees: ₦23,000

Total school fees needed: ₦110,000

Beyond the educational crisis, the family was also struggling with basic survival. At the time of the visit, Abigail shared that there was no food in the house, making their situation even more urgent.

Immediate Support in a Time of Need

Moved by compassion and led by the Spirit, Nnenna provided ₦5,000 in cash from the Empowered Servants purse to help the family meet their immediate feeding needs. Though modest, the support brought relief and encouragement during a very difficult moment.

Abigail received the assistance with joy and heartfelt gratitude, expressing appreciation to God for remembering her family.

A Seed of Hope

This act of kindness represents more than financial help—it is a seed of hope, reminding this family that God sees their pain and is able to raise help through His people. ESGI remains committed to standing with vulnerable families, especially widows and children, ensuring that they are not left alone in their struggles.

ESGI: Love in Action

Through consistent outreach, prayer, and giving, the Empowered Servants Initiative continues to touch lives, restore dignity, and rekindle hope—one family at a time.
